INVESTIGATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST

To qualify for this position, you MUST have experience using Law Enforcement Administrative databases and Law Enforcement Case Management systems. Applicants MUST demonstrate meeting the specialized experience and selective placement factor in their resumes to meet minimum qualifications for the position. GS-09 Specialized
Experience:
You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or at an equivalent level. Specialized experience is experience that includes knowledge of, and skill in applying analytical, investigative, problem solving and case management concepts, principles, methodologies and practices to detect illegal activity and support and conduct complex criminal investigations, compliance inspections and other law enforcement activities. The position requires knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures associated with federal law enforcement operations and investigations. If you are using Education to qualify for this position, a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet the minimum qualification requirements as stated in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
